Eating Right on the Road

Eating Right on the Road

Travelers commonly complain that they can’t eat right on the road. Many share tales of gaining weight on a trip. In this post, we'll share some healthy eating tips that we use in our travels. We hope they will help you too.

We all love pasta. It’s one of nature’s perfect comfort foods. The problem is that pasta can be pretty fattening. So if you want to have noodles with dinner, what can you do? Eat zoodles instead, the healthy new low-calorie, low-carb, gluten-free food trend.

Greatest. Invention. Ever.

Greatest. Invention. Ever.

We're always in a hurry. Especially when we're hungry. There was once a time when the most convenient food was the salve for our hunger, even if it meant compromising on stale tasting, high-sodium, fattening foods you could prepare in a minute. But it doesn't have to be that way. You can eat wonderfully healthy vegetables, even seafood steamed in a microwave in less time than it would take to heat up a lousy frozen dinner.

About a year ago, we discovered the Lekue silicone microwave steamer (available at Sur La Table and Amazon). We can't recommend it enough.
